Al White recognized with life-saving pin
On June 26, 2011, the Clare Police Department responded to a 911 dispatch for a child that was choking at a residence in Clare. Officer Al White, the first emergency responder on the scene, found Madison Fischer unconscious. He performed a Heimlich Maneuver to dislodge the item the child had choked on and resuscitated the child by performing CPR. Officer White is credited with saving the life of the child. The Mayor publicly presented a life-saving pin to Officer White for his decisive and heroic actions.
