Events Clare Main Street and Clare Parks & Recreation have teamed up again to produce a fun-filled family Halloween event to be held downtown Clare. On Saturday, October 22nd from 10 am-12 pm join us for the Main Street Spook-Tacular: “Something to Howl About”. Bring your little ghouls and boos for a morning filled with pumpkin painting, hay rides, Trunk-or-Treat, clowns, skeleton search, police, a costume parade and so much more!
Let your little goblins show off their best Halloween attire during our Kid’s Costume Parade at 12 noon (meet outside McEwan Street Subway at 11:45 pm to participate). We will tour your mini monsters around the sidewalks of downtown so all of Main Street can view their Halloween spirit.
Did you know that Main Street is filled with skeletons? Spookers of all ages will enjoy the Skeleton Search in our downtown businesses. Contest forms will be available at the event during the Main Street Spook-Tacular and at the Pere Marquette District Library until 1 pm. All completed forms must be returned to the PMDL before 1:30 pm to be entered into a drawing.
As part of this year’s Main Street Spook-Tacular on October 22nd, the committee is again organizing a “trunk or treat” from 10 am – 12 pm. What in the world is a trunk or treat, you say? A trunk or treat is when people gather and park their cars in a large parking lot (In this case, the 5th street lot). They open their trunks or the backs of their vehicles and decorate them. Then they pass out candy from their trunks. The event provides a safe family environment for trick or treaters.
If your family, sports team, church group, business, civic club, etc. would like to participate by decorating a vehicle and handing out treats, please contact Clare Main Street. Award given for the most creative trunk!
Call or email Clare Main Street at 386-9190 – lschuh@mainstreetclare.com to reserve your space today!
